Calient’s Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) – S320 is an all-optical (OOO) switch that establishes, monitors, and changes connections between single-mode optical fibers.
The OCS is transparent to data speed and is protocol agnostic. Consequently, it offers very high bandwidth and configuration flexibility as networks grow in speed from 40 and 100 Gbps to 400 Gbps and beyond.

Cost effective technology
The S320 switches light entirely within the photonic domain. The S320 does not have or need optical transceivers which enables the S320 to deliver the lowest cost per bit of any switching technology or device available in the market.
Compact with 320 ports capacity
Every in/out fiber is monitored, providing powerful network diagnostic capabilities. A compact size of 445 x 310 x 483 mm with a weight of 20.5kg.
Fully non-blocking switch
The S320 allows any port to be connected to any port, resulting in a fully non-blocking switch array. Ports can be switching in less than 50 ms. The entire switching fabric can be configured in less than 200 ms.
Speed of light latency
The S320 does not convert the data path from optical to electrical which results in no introduced delay or jitter. The latency of the S320 is only 30ns.
Low insertion loss
With a typical insertion loss less than 1.5dB, Calient’s 3D MEMS technology provides the lowest insertion loss of any large port count switching fabric.
